1.1 Day to Day Maintenance Requirements of My Instrument
a) What are the maintenance requirements of my instrument?
Drink water to keep your body well hydrated, and avoid alcohol and caffeine. Your vocal cords vibrate very fast, and having a proper water balance helps keep them lubricated. Foods containing large amounts of water are excellent hydration-conscious snacks, including apples, pears, watermelon, peaches, melons, grapes, plums, bell peppers and applesauce.i think getting a lot of sleep is very important as well as I can rest my voice. humidifying the my house is also advised as moisture is good for the voice.
b) What Can I undertake personally?
personally i would try to drink as much fluids as possible to stay hydrated and try not to have drinks with caffeine. resting my voice as well and not using it when Im not feeling well would help it not to wear out and generally practising good breathing techniques when singing or talking.drinking hot drinks more often is also something I could do more often.
1.2. Personal Health and Safety Issues
a) What Health and Safety issues are there that you need to consider when playing your instrument, and when approaching your playing style
A sore throat infection is usually common with singers and vocalists.this not permanent as it gets better with time. Another health issue is when the throat is not lubricated which can cause problems.A safety issue would be trying not to shout all the time which would help in not getting a rough voice when singing.
b) How should you review your own approach to these issues when playing your instrument?
when singing avoid any yelling, screaming, and extreme temperature changes, such as going from air conditioning to a hot temperature, and vice versa.you you should always have breathe support to avoid abusing the voice.A tickle is caused from dryness in the throat. The dryness can cause coughing. To avoid this you should drink plenty of room temperature water to keep the vocal cords hydrated. You may also try drinking warm lemon tea, with a small amount of honey before singing. This is better than anything on the market, which really does nothing anyhow.
2.1 Reviewing Personal Goals
a) What are the personal goals that you would like to achieving in playing your instrument?
i have to stay hydrated at all time avoid drinking and caffein. i should avoid screaming and abusing my voice in other ways. not clearing my throat much often reduces the risk of throat
Personal goals.
- finish all the songs i wanted to record and perform.
- be able to know how to keep my instrument in good shape
- being able to sing in harmony with a band and being able to sing a solo in front of an audience
- to add the hours i can spend singing therefore improving my performance stamina
- to learn how to control my voice
b) How do you intend to achieve these personal goals?
i intend to achieve this through practising in my spare time, working hard in my lesson and asking for help from my vocal tutor.
The agreed plan with my teacher is to:
1. Attend and take part in 1 hour of practical lessons per week, for a minimum of 15 weeks.
2. Attend and take part in a 20 minute lesson for my instrument, for a minimum of 15 weeks.
3. Review and reflect upon my lessons and progress each week on my blog, for a minimum of 15 weeks.
c) Blog of all rehearsals - you must state what you have achieved, and what you plan to do next week.
Here is my first recording! I will review it below.
on my first recording i was quite singing in a room with people and i think that was reflected in my voice with the way sang. i was greatly proud that i had learnt the song in quite a short period that i though i would. i enjoyed singing thought at the end and i plan to work towards my difficulties with help from my tutor as i work towards the next song.

Today I sang our project song 'Counting Stars'. At the start of the lesson we rehearsed by singing along to the original piece. When we were singing along to the song, we did not notice any problem as the voices of all singers blended in very well. We then used the karaoke version of the song. Myself and the other singers noticed that our voices were not syncing with the song and we discussed the problem with the help of the other guys playing the instruments. We managed to work out what we would try to do to rectify our problem. We were able to sing to the song perfectly without any mistakes. We changed the song again and now we were using an instrumental version without lyrics. When we sang with this piece we did not blend in well with the instruments . We were sometimes singing too fast or too slow causing confusion for all of the people performing. In the process of singing I could feel my voice get a bit cranky . We finally did a perfect job and we sang beautifully together with all mechanisms, techniques and harmonies coming together .

I would like to practise all singing techniques and learn how to sing them nicely and i would like to improve in my singing harmony. I would like to improve the control my voice and be able to sing without getting tired therefore improving my stamina.

today i just practised singing my piece and tried to get all the words and tried singing it to myself. i listen to it a couple of times and tried to sing it again repeated after the song and then tried singing it without the song playing so that i would listen to the mistakes i might have been making. starting the song was a bit of a difficulty but i decided i would ask my tutor for help when i have my next lesson.

2.How did i find practising these pieces? What was easy? what was difficult? what techniques do i need to work on?Today i was recorded my song more than twice to try and listen to how i was singing and to correct mistakes. i found that i was not singing loud enough in some part of the song and i was skipping some words. i could not record my song because they were other students working in the area we were also working on and it would mess up the song. so me and joe decided we would do it tomorrow when there will be no disturbance from other students.

1.What piece did I practice today?
today i practised my song for the last time in my music practitioners lesson.
today i found practising the song a bit hard because i challenged myself to sing it without the back up of the actual real song. the song if not as very long and there is a a lot of repetition of words so i found the words a bit easy but changing from the chorus to the main words is quite hard for me. i will speak about this to my tutor so she can advice me how to go back to other parts after the chorus very fast.
on thursday when i have my lesson i will ask my tutor about how i can change from part to part and i will record my song with her guidance.
